David's Garden Seeds D9661, OMRI listed crop protectant. A special formulation of Kaolin clay that forms an effective film barrier, protecting plants from pests by repelling them, causing irritation and confusion, and preventing feeding and egg-laying. Also protects against sun damage and reduces heat stress, cooling plants by 10-15° F. Typical application is by sprayer, but whole trays of seedlings can be dipped for early protection. To avoid post-harvest washing, applications should be made early-season only. Residue may be minimized if applications to smooth skin crops cease when fruit is approximately 1/4 of its expected size. If applied after fruit set, non-toxic white film may be present at harvest, reducing marketability, but can be easily wiped or brushed and washed off with water.
